  Had been looking for a roofer to do a job on my roof on a rental property near York. I put my details into checkatrade and within 30 mins Billy had rang me, and within the hour he was at my house to asses the job. Very pleasant and polite chap and was very keen to get the work done as bad weather was forecast. I asked another company to come and quote as well, they did come but am still waiting on the actual quote. Billy has since been and done the work to a very high standard, he has kept in touch all the time to say what he needed to. 100% recommend Billy at Red Roofing.

• Roof renovation

  Work began in June. Roof was to be renovated and soffits painted. During renovation, water twice penetrated our bedroom and damaged the ceiling. Work stopped in July on the day the roofer was paid - "job practically finished". He made constant excuses for not completing the work. He has now (mid August) stopped answering the phone and his ladders have quietly disappeared from the scaffolding. There is guttering missing from the side of the house, the stench pipe is propped in the back yard, the bedroom ceiling is still cracked, the soffits unpainted, we have no guarantee for any of the work.
