  Jannis came and quoted for this job. We agreed (in writing) that he would come and pick up the items yesterday morning. When the day came, no sign of him. Phone call cut off, email, phone message and texts all went unanswered. Possibly there was some emergency, but failure to inform or reply is simply unaccemtable.

• Metamorphic table repair

  I knew that this was going to be a very difficult job. It's a really unusual 1920/30's wooden table with engineered metal movements/spring to convert from a coffee table into a dining table. The wood had become slightly warped by being in an under floor heated room and nothing seemed to want to move as smoothly as it had when I first bought it. It slowly got more and more difficult to open, by myself, until I couldn't do it at all. I can at least now open it, with difficulty but I am hoping that it will get easier with use. Yannis and team did their best and I am grateful that they tried.

• Repadding of cushions on sofa

  Yannis was excellent throughout the process. Messaged me on the day to notify me that he was on his way (already arranged a time before hand). Had the difficult task of repadding the cushion on a chaise lounge which was stapled so had to take it apart and sort it out. Then a further 2 cushions with a zip. All 3 cushions look much improved and the sofa feels better than when I first bought it, really pleased with the work and Yannis was a great guy for the task. Highly recommend

  Excellent service from beginning to end. I found via checkatrade and left message. Response rapid and arranged to view the job and quotation. Informed me of appt time and rang with updates re eta. Sent quote soon after - and restoration was Completed to an excellent standard. Same courtesy and arrival updates at all appts . Thanks to the team. Will use again and fully endorse.

  I contacted SC Restoration and a guy came round and reviewed the material amount of work that I wanted done. Since then I've emailed, phoned and sent whatsapp messages asking where the quote is, over probably 3 months now. Absolutely no response aside from "maybe our e-mail is playing up". Out of courtesy I haven't tried anywhere else, but then one gives up. If you repairs can wait for a year, then try SCR, and good luck to you, but if you have a life to lead, forget them and try a more reliable, responsive, customer centric company.

• Repair to sofa seats

  Yannis did a first-class job. I was able to leave him alone to get on with the job, he kept me up to speed as the job progressed and cleared up afterwards. I'm very pleased with the results, which have given our sofas a new lease of life.
