  • Repairing a grandfather clock

    I dropped the weight from my grandfather clock and it smashed the wooden stool at the bottom of the clock. (It's a separate piece that the clock sits on top of.) The clock is from the 1840s, so I wanted to get it repaired by an expert. Steve did an absolutely incredible job. I couldn't believe how good it looked when he returned it. He reconstructed it using all the original pieces of wood, and it looks like nothing ever happened to it, even though the damage that I did was pretty bad.

    You MUST use This Old House. Steve is kind, polite, knowledgeable, experienced, neat, courteous and everything else you would need from a carpenter/joiner. We are so pleased with our new seating, I will sit here every day. Communication from the get go was amazing, prices are fair but most of all, the standard of work completed is very high. We will use This Old House for anything like this we need in the future.
