“Very polite and kept me well informed of lateness which was fine. Call out charge at £65, I had heard £55 on the phone so we offered £60 which was accepted. This was steep for 5 minutes of checking the fridge freezer and then advising us to check with the brand to see if it was under warranty for the issue, as there was a warranty sticker on the fridge. The issue was not visible but suspected, so we are still unsure if the warranty covers it. Overall the charge was high for no resolution. Nice man but I would be hesitant to use again, perhaps we should have checked with the brand first.”

The customer was informed prior to the engineers visit about the call out charges, which she agreed to pay. It was also explained to her that the call out charge was not dependant upon how long it takes to diagnose the fault with the appliance, whether it be 5 minutes or 50 minutes. To resolve the issues and as a good will gesture I offered the customer a full refund, which she rejected. This customer had also admitted that she should have checked the brand first to see if the fridge was still under warranty.
