  • Patio extension and garden edging

    10Verified Review

We were recommended to Phil by a friend, the job we wanted doing was Patio extension and redesigning the edging and lawn shape, the moment we met Phil we knew he would do an excellent job, he is extremely courteous, clean and tidy, informative and hardworking, his time keeping spot on. Phil went above and beyond even raising our lawn slightly to even out the slight drop, and after seeing all the effort required realised that you need a professional to do this type of work. Highly recommend

  • Relaying of front path and rear patio

    10Verified Review

I know Phil socially, so if he had done a bad job I probably would have 'forgotten' to write a review. The fact is he did a super job. He diagnosed why the two areas were in such bad condition, quoted fairly, sourced excellent materials and carried out the work very well. He was also very good natured about the inevitable 'while you are here' requests I made of him. My neighbour sized up Phil's work and so he moved straight on to replace that path too, so now we match. In summary, I can highly recommend Phil. You'll be needing sugar for his tea, though.

  • Built a bespoke garden room

    10Verified Review

We used Philip to landscape our garden last year and after failing to find exactly what we wanted from other suppliers, we approached him to build a bespoke garden room . His vision and ability to turn his hand to anything meant that we have a beautiful garden room that is more than we had wished for. He is always proactive with ideas, delivers real quality and is a pleasure to work with . I would wholeheartedly recommend him.

  • Garden landscaping/full renovation

    10Verified Review

We hired Phil to do a complete re-modelling of our garden which included design, a new patio, putting up a new shed, lights, installing a trampoline and climbing frame and a full planting plan. We are so happy we did. Phil has been amazing and the transformation is incredible. He is extremely knowledgeable, reliable and takes great pride in his work. Our garden has been completely transformed into a space our children can enjoy for years to come as well as a relaxing space for adults. All of our neighbours and friends have commented on the amazing job he has done. Absolutely recommend!

UPDATE !!

As of Friday 8th March 2024 I will be wishing a fond farewell to London and moving to our new home in the village of Brook, near Haslemere, Surrey.

I very much look forward to bringing many years of experience in the landscape industry to help develop gardens in my new area.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have been in the landscape business since 1978, when I started work for a local firm during school holidays.

Somewhat accidentally I ended up as a foreman by the time I was 19 years old and then eventually set up my own business, having had some time out working as a Scuba Diving Instructor and running my own diving school.

I Offer a complete landscape gardening and garden design service and am very much "hands on" being a creative Landscape artisan.

I take you through the design and then the construction process and most importantly will help you keep your new garden looking its best for many years to come, although I do not now do much garden maintenance but will certainly offer advice on what to do and when.

My specialty is creating contemporary looking gardens and constantly innovate with new materials and design methods.

Decking has progressed from slippery rotting softwood to long lasting plastic lumber or Aluminium sub frames with amazing new composite materials and of course Hardwoods being available, with subtle accent lighting being possible to build into steps.

Paving has progressed from when I first started in landscaping from being the choice of grey or buff to a bewildering selection of manmade and natural stone.

Garden lighting schemes are now available using 12 volt systems to give added "umph" to your outside space.

Computer controlled irrigation systems are now available for all budgets and pop up lawn sprinklers are particularly popular.

I have all the tools and machinery needed to create just about anything in the garden and the experience and expertise to correctly install whatever you want created - Excavator with auger and concrete breaker, tracked carrier and dumper, stone cutting equipment with dust suppression, welding , drilling and cutting equipment for steel, wood working equipment with dust extraction etc etc etc...

Generally I work on my own with the use of occasional labourers and other tradesmen when required. It may take me slightly longer to complete a project BUT what you get is someone who is absolutely dedicated to perfection and only the best will do, as can be seen from the many reviews on here.

I regularly work in areas around Chiswick, Kew, Richmond, Twickenham, Isleworth, Putney, New Malden and all points in between !

I really do have a love and passion for what I do and continue to research interesting and exciting gardens to provide inspiration and originality in my designs– e.g RHS Wisley, The Lost Gardens Of Heligan, Hidcote Manor, Villa D'Este and Chateau Villandry & many other Loire Valley Chateaux as well as Botanical gardens further afield In The USA, Far East and other parts of Europe. Of course being a regular visitor to RHS shows and gardens helps to keep abreast of developments in Horticulture and design.
