  Richard is a knowledgeable carpenter with a wealth of experience. He is a perfectionist, with an exceptional eye for detail, and his work reflects this. He is punctual, approachable and neat and tidy. His prices are reasonable and I would wholeheartedly highly recommend him.

• Herringbone flooring

  Richard installed our herringbone flooring for us after being recommended by our builders, couldn’t have done a better job. Spent the first few hours making sure the initial starting point was perfect, even down to things like making sure walls were straight to get an even pattern (wouldn’t have crossed my mind but that’s why he’s the professional). Once he found the perfect placement he worked very quickly whilst maintaining the perfect finish. Had so many compliments on the flooring. Thankyou Richard! Would definitely use again with no hesitation.

• Quickstep natural varnished oak laminate throughout hallway/kitchen

  This is the fourth time we have used Richard James flooring and can not fault them. James provided excellent service from start to finish, gave good advice regarding the most suitable laminate for our kitchen area. He was very punctual, took out the old floor was very tidy. He was very friendly and professional completed the work in just one day, the quality of his work is exceptional. We are very happy to recommend James to anyone needing a reliable and high quality floor installer. Thanks for a great job.
