I’m the chimney sweep at Sweep our Soot. I work hard to provide a cost effective and reliable service for my customers, keeping your chimneys safe and clean throughout the winter months. I have been sweeping chimneys and flues for the past 10 years. This training has given me the expertise and confidence to carry out a professional job on all types of chimneys and stoves. There will be no mess when I sweep your chimney and any extra work will be fully discussed with you prior to commencement i.e. if there is a birds nest or other blockage. I carry the latest camera in order to inspect your chimney should there be any issues with it. This can also be recorded and shown to your insurance company for any claims that you may make.

I can also offer advice on how to protect your wood/multi fuel burner and liner with regards to what you burn and how to control the burn on your stove.

As well as sweeping chimneys I can also repair/restore your wood/multi fuel burner to its previous glory.

It’s been a busy 2019 year for me. Back in April I completed and passed the OFTEC Stove installation course which had given me great insight into how stoves are installed and the knowledge to locate any faults with stoves that have been fitted. I am not intending to install stoves but if you have any issues regarding your stove and it’s fitting then please get in touch and I can help you out regarding any potential faults.

The Chimney Sweeping industry is undergoing change in relation to bringing the industry and sweeps up to a set standard. This is being bought about by obtaining the NVQ in chimney sweeping and technical issues with regards to fireplaces and stoves. I am pleased to say that I have passed the NVQ and am one of only a few sweeps within Norfolk that currently hold this qualification an achievement that I am very proud of. So, if you are looking for a Chimney Sweep then keep your eyes out for the NVQ logo on web sites as you will know that the sweep has been assessed to a high standard and will be able to give you excellent service.

It’s been a strange year what with Coronavirus shutting the whole world down. So work came to a halt on 23/03/2020 but this did not mean sitting around doing nothing, it gave me the chance to clean and repair my tools, rods, and brushes, purchase new equipment and of course PPE needed to do the job I am now back working, observing the 2 metre ruling and making certain that all equipment is disinfected prior to taking it into customers houses all cloths used are only used once and then washed prior to further use. Once the work is complete then I disinfect my work area, fireplace and or stove and any door handles that I may have touched. My customers safety is very important to me and so I always do my best to keep them safe and well.
