    I had called a few pest control company's but only got answer machine's or promises to call back , none came . I called The Pest Detective and got straight through . I was infested with cat fleas from looking after a friends cat for 3 weeks and I was in a very bad stressed out state . Paul Storey who runs the company was SO understanding and helpful AND he came very quickly . He sprayed the house throughout , he was very polite and courteous and he put me at ease as soon as I met him . I no longer have fleas thank god and I would highly recommend you use his service's .

    Phoned one day Paul was round our place the next day. We originally thought it was a rat but Paul discovered it was birds, located where they were coming in and blocked it off. He was polite friendly and has done an excellent job. The price he quoted us is the price we paid no hidden extras. And we are now no longer sharing our home with birds.

    Please be aware that this company doesn’t offer a 24hr 7 days a week service as advertised- tried to contact them and did manage to get through on the checkatrade listed mobile number and was told that they are shut at weekends as ‘they have to take a break sometimes’ . Appreciate that but perhaps change the website information please. Disappointing as they sounded good - assuming this is for all areas as my whereabouts wasn’t established in the call.

  • Eliminating a rat problem in my house

    Under quite a bit of pressure from my wife to sort out a rogue rat that had found it's way into the house. Fortunately I contacted TPD who sorted my problem quickly. The main focus was on finding where the rat was entering the house. Following the lifting of several man hole covers the problem was solved. The rat was poisoned by the following morning. Problem solved. Two more visits from TPD followed during the next few weeks to ensure the pest had not returned. I would certainly recommend TPD for anyone with a similar problem.

TPD Environmental Services Ltd (The Pest Detective) operate from a Head office based in Dorset which offer a range of Pest Control, Environmental and specialist services to both Domestic and Commercial customers.


Our services include Rodent, Bird Control (and Proofing), Crawling and Flying Insects (Bed bugs, Fleas, Flies, Ants, Cockroaches, Wasps and Woodworm) as well as Vertebrates (Moles, Rabbits and Squirrels). 

We don't charge a call out fee and in most instances we’re happy to offer a free quotation and advice over the phone.

Awarded Trading Standards Accreditation by Poole Borough council, means that we are fully CRB checked and constantly monitored by PBC for work carried out within the region.


All of our vehicles are unmarked and do not display any of our services which we provide on our vans. This offers full discretion to all of our customers.


Finally, we offer discounts to Senior Citizens and former members to our Armed forces (see website for details).
