  Darren and the team repaired several areas of damp walls in the house and replaced a lintel above a window. The replastered walls have a very good finish and they kept mess to a minimum. Darren was very helpful in advising about different options.

• Airbrick installation and loft check

  Darren came and promptly fitted 5 airbricks at a fraction of the cost of our other quote. He carefully explained some issues which he uncovered during this which we really valued. He also checked the loft for some suspected rotten rafters which was so helpful. Couldn't recommend him and his team more. Will be in touch when we need further work.

• Full damp proofing and fitting of basement room

  Full damp proofing/fitting of basement completed November 2016. In July 2017 signs of damp appeared on the wall above the steps down to the basement. Darren claimed this was “salts” in the plaster and perfectly normal nevertheless agreed to rectify (by removing plaster, allowing to dry, re-rendering, re-plastering). The problem recurred and the “repairs” were repeated on a number of occasions. Each occasion necessitated constant chasing, often over a period of months, and being let down frequently. Following failed attempts to contact Darren in August 2023, I wrote a letter advising breach of contract. When he next visited my home he was quite aggressive and told me there was no need for my letter. He then admitted the work had been carried out incorrectly and that the wall shouldn’t have been plastered down to the stone steps rather a gap should have been left. He claims to have now rectified the issue however signs of damp are now appearing on the basement floor. In February 2017, believing the job had been done well, I engaged him to complete damp proofing in other areas of my home. Damp and mould have also now returned to those areas. Poor service and workmanship.

• Damp proof course and airbrick installation

  10/10 service, Darren came quickly and did a damp proofing course (which was much cheaper than other companies!) and installed an airbrick. Work was completed really quickly and room was left tidy and clean. Needed a bit of extra plastering which was carried out without additional charge! Excellent !
