    Amazing! Darren was booked in to service my boiler and provided a gas safe certificate. What should have been a simple job turned in to a bit of a nightmare but Darren preserved and always kept me informed of what he was doing etc. The boiler had to be turned off and then Darren booked us in to come back and carry out the work to get the boiler back up and running. He turned up ahead of time and continued to work professionally on the boiler and overcoming any obstacle my boiler seemed to throw at him. Thank you very much!

  • Intermittent issue with hot water

    Very happy with service Ongoing intermittent issue with hot water and of course when he arrived it was working fine. After back and forth trying to diagnose the issue he has found the problem and steps in place to resolve. Waiting for a part now but appreciate his attitude and behaviour. Will be my go to for all gas and water works going forward!

  • Broken boiler wasn't fixed then charged £660

    Our boiler had stopped working. Darren looked and stated that it wasn't a problem with our boiler but with air circulation He then proceeded to spend many hours doing additional work which he said would fix it, including replacing a pump that wasn't needed, for over £200. He left without fixing the boiler and I then had to get a separate Baxi engineer out for £400

    My boiler lost pressure and was playing up, had no heating on my wife’s birthday and I’m full of flu. Called flame guru, diagnosed the issue over the phone. Talked me through what to do to get it working again, really helpful and very quick responses. Didn’t charge me anything for the help he provided. 100% recommend flame guru when you’re in a pinch. House warmed up lovely now, everyone’s happy

    I had never used Check a Trade online before. Flame Guru contacted me I believe within an hour. I had also phoned a number found online for another firm. When spoke on phone with FG they were aware of time given by other firm and were honest about what time they could make it and left choice with me and to call back. When I called back they ensured I had correctly cancelled other company. They arrived around time theyd said and gave me full information about the issue, costs etc. Boiler was left safe and they returned a few days later. Felt comfortable with advice and explanations and chaps that came.

Welcome to the site of Flame Guru Ltd.

My name is Darren, I have been in the plumbing & heating industry since the 1980s (That makes me feel so old when I say that – a cliché but so true) I served and completed a JIB indentured plumbing apprenticeship with a local company that has long since gone called J H Fryer Ltd, based in Derby.

I have worked in both the domestic and commercial sectors as a plumber, gas & heating engineer in multiple and diverse roles such as installation, repair, service, maintenance, repair and technical consultation. The types of client are varied ranging from the BBC (Yes, I made it to DIY SOS and not rogue traders –thank you!) to many of the blue-chip FM companies such as Carillion, Mitie, Babcock’s etc., to domestic house holders.  

My experience and knowledge empower Flame Guru to have competency and expertise to provide a range of dependable and trustworthy services to the consumer in regular working hours and in the event of an emergency a positive response through its dedicated reactive service that operates continuously. 

    In terms of conduct, we seek to be “Avant Guarde” with our business model directed in a mission to re-establish consumer service values that are becoming less important in today's world.
