This was a large messy job involving the hacking off of old cracked render, re-rendering and painting.  A first-class result.  We were kept informed of time scales throughout by courteous friendly workmen of a family-run business.  Couldn't fault the impeccable time-keeping. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Garden office is room

After an initial blip regarding the start date, Chris and his team did a good job of removing an original 1958 fireplace and make good the chimney breast.  They did their level best to minimise the volume of brick dust.  Once removed, the chimney breast was plastered and I was given advice regarding a colour wash before painting.  There was a little plaster marks on the floor, but there was no carpet so it wasn’t a big deal.  All in all it was a great job.

Renov8 Construction had done some work for us at our previous home and we didn't hesitate to invite them to provide us with a quotation for our extention on our new home.  They were competitively priced and carried out the work within budget and time frame to a high standard.  I couldn't recommend Chris and his team enough!

Renov8 (Chris) responded very quickly to our call and provided a detailed quotation within hours.  He and his team (John and Jamie) commenced the works within days.  They worked extremely hard, on occasions in very bad weather conditions, clearing the area within a day and getting the new wall completed within a week.  They did a fantastic job in very difficult conditions.

Chris and his team did an excellent job and I highly recommend them.  The estimate was detailed with reasonable pricing and we were kept informed during the whole process.  All members of the team, scaffolders, builders, renderers and painters were courteous and genuinely nice people.  Everybody seemed to care about doing everything properly and not cutting corners.  I am very pleased with the results.

Recently completed a Dropped Kerb within a week of receiving the quotation, as agreed.  Work was completed in one day which was extremely convenient and delivered a faultless finish.  I would highly recommend Stern Construction to complete any of their advertised services. Dropped Kerb

The boundary wall was a job too much.  Rendering peeled within a month.  Never came back to repair despite promises and being paid in full (my stupidity).  The rest of the job still holding up.

REALLY did not want to write this review.  Stern completed our driveway December 2022, we paid on the day they finished understanding they would return to brush the sand in-between the blocks - never happened.  The special draining tarmac they used has failed, its worn down in places and coming away, this started a few months afterwards, NUMEROUS phone calls to Thomas until September, every time promised he'd be in contact next week to rectify, never called.  We were very clear we needed good drainage, showing pictures, the soakaway they dug cannot cope and every time it rains, enormous puddle.

Stern Construction created a lovely patio area that really completes the garden.  Work was completed in a timely manner and Tom and Dan showed up on time every day and were professional and polite as well as friendly.  They made suggestions that improved the appearance of the patio area I had envisaged and which didn’t impact the cost.  The work area was kept tidy and the end result is brilliant.

This is the third time the Stern team have completed work for me and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.  Tom has great vision and he and his team are able to bring this to life quickly and efficiently.  The team completed a custom designed baton fence for me and the result is beautiful, I’ll be finding more projects for them to complete.

Barrie made a very good job of repairing our garage parapet and redecorating it, and making our house more damp-proof by repointing brickwork around front windows,  interior bay window repair, and painting front wall with a Waterseal coating.

Brick building demolished, plus corete base

Barrie plastered two of our bedrooms beautifully, we have sloping ceilings and the finish is lovely.  He was punctual friendly and very tidy.  He and his brother Alan also removed a redundant and leaking chimney stack for us, he organised the scaffold and again was very tidy and efficient.  I do not have any hesitation in recommending Barrie Pacy Builders.

Painting the outside of the house

Dean and Lee were absolute professionals.  Kept us informed of time scales etc due to the amount of wet weather they came round as soon as they could.  Built the end section of wall that had been knocked down and tidied the area taking away old brickwork.  Would I use them again 100%.  Would I recommend them 100%

Dean and Lee have been superb and I would not hesitate to recommend them.  Their building work, kitchen fitting and tiling has been of the highest standard.  Having them both working in our home for the last 6 weeks has been completely stress free, they have been respectful of our space and are extremely tidy, ensuring that each evening their workspace is left clean and tidy.  We now have much better configured living and dining rooms.  Equally our fitted kitchen is extremely well fitted, smart and functional.  We will certainly be using Valentine Construction again!

A brilliant team, I cannot recommend Lee and Dean at Valentine highly enough.  They did a remodel of the back of a Victorian terrace with great skill (including removing walls and putting in new windows and door), with sympathy for the historic building.  Their work was of a fantastic quality but most importantly for me their communication was brilliant, discussing and explaining the options and then executing as agreed.  They were a pleasure to work with and I felt comfortable and safe with them working in the property.  Thank you Lee and Dean for the fantastic job, really enjoying the new space!
