  Chris from MDJ building did a fantastic job. He was conscientious and a pleasure to have in the house. He completed the work above and beyond expectations. He obviously has a lot of experience and despite this being a relatively small and mundane job he completed it with a sense of pride in his workmanship.

• Repointing part of bungalow wall and one garage wall

  Chris is very knowledgeable and skilled at brickwork and his quote was reasonable. It was easy to discuss and agree the work with him, which he then kept to. When additional problems with the bungalow brickwork were identified, some additional bricks were replaced, for a small additional cost. The existing mortar on the garage wall, although worn, was still very hard and it took longer than estimated for Chris to drill this out to the required depth, but he stuck to his original quote for this work.

  The work was carried out thoroughly with precision and care to detail. The walling has enhanced my garden inspiring me to develop the planting. Much care was taken to tidy up after the work was finished. Very professional and efficient workmanship. Highly recommended

• Replacement lintel

  Chris did some repointing work and it was found that the lintel above one of the windows needed replacing. He explained why he thought it needed doing and left it up to us as it would obviously cost more money. We went ahead, he also tided up the plastic sills as they looked awful and were put in by a previous company very badly. He also did some internal work to the indoor plaster. I can honestly say that at no time did we feel under pressure to do the work and the finished article is very professionally finished. Chris is great and I have no trouble recommending.

  We asked for a quote for the whole of our bungalow. Chris attended and looked at the property and said that it was only two walls that needed doing (very impressed). Quote provided was reasonable and the work started. I cannot fault the work done, Chris was very hard working, tidy and he got on really well with me and my husband. I would certainly recommend.

  Chris was fantastic. He was exceedingly reliable, courteous, friendly and a great communicator. Our job took longer than expected as the weather was not on our side. However, Chris was great at communicating when he would be working and what work needed doing. He left the job tidy and the quality of the work was brilliant.
