Completed re-roof of main roof incorporating several new build extensions to the rear and low level. A modern look was achieved using a flat profile concrete tile, dry verge caps, hidden GRP valleys and UPVC fascias and soffits.

By using hidden GRP valleys and dry verge caps low maintenance roof was achieved.

A.L.S Roofing were asked to re-roof these two 1960's built bungalows as numerous leaks were appearing at the flashings to the chimneys and the lead valleys to the rear. The customers also wanted to give the property's a face lift as extensive moss was also becoming a problem on the worn concrete tiles and was causing problems by regularly blocking the guttering and downpipes.

Once the tiles were removed the customers were surprised by how rotten the existing under-felt and battens had become. This is an all to common sight for a roofing company with any roof over about 30yrs old as the concrete tiles loose there glaze and become porous essentially becoming like sponges where the water is soaked in before running off thus allowing damp to penetrate the battens and felt causing rot.

Completed re-roofing to the bungalows giving a complete facelift to the property's. The smooth faced tiles will drastically cut the amount of moss that can attach to the tiles in the future keeping gutters clear and improving the kerb appeal of the property's.

The customers advised that they would like a modern clean look to the roof which was also as low maintenance as possible and chose a smooth grey tile for a contemporary look. I recommended the use of a complete dry fix system of  verges, ridges and valleys. This system eliminates the need for any mortar to be used which gives a contemporary look to the roof and means any future maintenance to the roof will be minimal.

Pitched Re-Roofing

The customers had contacted A.L.S Roofing for advice on their flat roof to a newly purchased property.

I advised the customers that the parapet wall should either be removed or alternatively joists should be installed so the water runs away as efficiently as possible without obstruction.

Adding firing strips to the level joists allows a gradual fall to be achieved. The minimum building regulation requirement for flat roofs is a ratio of 1:40

A 3 layer torch on based system from the Anderson techna torch range was used to finish. (The vertical tiles were to be later replaced with UPVC Cladding).

E.P.D.M is a single ply rubber sheet solution for flat roofs where traditional felt would have been used.

E.P.D.M is becoming more and more popular for domestic property's  due to its long life expectancy (up to 50 years) and the low maintenance required

Came out promptly and quoted the job, price seemed reasonable.  Came the next day and carried out the work.  I would recommend this company.

Aaron is a most conscientious man, cheerful dedicated and a perfectionist.  The job to support a sagging roof that had not been properly built 60years ago.  Aaron provided 4.5m lengths of wood to fit in above a front bedroom window.  And carried them up to the roof on his own.  He installed 2 pieces and bolted them together, giving greater support to the roof.  All done smoothly, with photos, no rubbish and to fit time scale.  He is very highly recommended by us and will definitely use him again for any further roof problems.

Arron has carried out a lot of work for us over the last few years, most recently, a complete reroof including soffits and facias.    Communication has always been great, he turns up when he says he will or will get in contact if things change.  He has fitted us in very quickly to fix leaks (on the old roof) too.    We’re pretty particular, yet Arron has managed to meet our expectations every time.  We highly recommend him.

If anyone wants a new roof I would highly recommend ALS Roofing.  Arron provided an excellent standard of workmanship.  Very reliable and punctual Arron always turned up when he said he would.  He didn’t flit between jobs once here he was with us for the duration.  He always treated our property with respect and cleaned up after himself.  Arron is a very friendly person and it was a pleasure to have him to do the work for us.  We will definitely be recommending him.  His wife deals with the admin side of things and she is very friendly and efficient.  She kept me updated regularly.  Very satisfied.

Arron completed the total re-roofing of our 1920s detached house, including new facias, soffits, guttering and installing a velux window.  Arron was friendly and approachable, he took the time to talk through his work, answering any questions that we had and kept us updated with the progress of the job.   He is professional and reliable.  He takes pride in his work which was completed to an exceptional standard.  Arron ensured that everything was tidy throughout, even sweeping up once the scaffolding was taken down.  We are very pleased with our new roof and have no hesitation in recommending...
