Our goal is to become the go to platform in the UK for researching tradespeople when you need a job doing around the home. And that means extending our platform to include profiles for all tradespeople, and not just our members.

Can I now check anyone on Checkatrade? You’ll now see profiles for a wider mix of tradespeople — including some who aren’t full Checkatrade members. That means more reviews, more choice, and a better way to check up on people before you hire.
Which trades can I review? You can leave a review for any tradesperson who has a profile — not just Checkatrade members. We’re adding new profiles all the time, so if you don’t see someone today, try again soon.
Can I add a new tradesperson myself? Not just yet — but we’re working on it. In the meantime, email us to let us know who you’d like to review, and we’ll try to get them added.
Can I contact every tradesperson on the site? Only Checkatrade members that have gone through our checks will have full contact options like phone and message buttons on their profile. For others, you can read and leave reviews but not get in touch directly through the site.
How can I tell the difference? You’ll see a clear banner if someone is not a Checkatrade member.
What if I spot a suspicious or fake review? You can report it using our Contact Us form. We’ll look into it and take action if needed.

How do I claim my profile? Right now, free profiles are by invite only. We’re starting with former Checkatrade tradespeople. If that’s you, you’ll get the chance to claim your profile and make it your own.

What if I get a bad review? You can reply to the review and share your side. If you think the review breaks our rules or isn’t genuine, you can report it through our Notice and Takedown process.
Can I edit or delete reviews? No — we keep everything transparent. But you can respond to reviews and add context.
Why do I have a profile if I didn’t sign up? We've made profiles for some former members visible again, starting with those who had reviews already. This helps people make informed decisions when they’re checking you out.
You don’t have to do anything with your profile — but you can claim it and manage it if you want.
Will my profile stay live even if I don’t claim it? Yes. Our goal is for every UK tradesperson to be visible on Checkatrade — whether they’re actively using the platform or not. So even if you choose not to claim it, your profile may still appear.
Can I remove my profile? Not feeling it? That’s fine. You don’t have to use your profile. You can request to delete your account once it’s claimed, which means you won’t be able to manage it or respond to reviews anymore. But we don’t remove profiles or reviews from the site, so people will still be able to see your past feedback and leave new reviews.
