I am a Fully Trained Professional Chimney Sweep and a Registered Member Assessor and Trainer at the National Chimney Sweeping Safety Association. I was formally a Course Instructor at the Institute of Chimney Sweeps, I have also done a NVQ in Chimney Sweeping which I have completed in September 2018 and I supply an insurance approved certificate to every sweep I complete. This will ensure that you are covered by your insurance if a chimney fire occurs.At Dave’s Chimney Sweep we enjoy our work and pride ourselves on offering a friendly, fast and efficient services which we like to feel is second to none. Our fully trained staff work to a code of practice, carry a copy of our public liability insurance, risk assessments and method statements at all times.Much of our work comes from Recommendations and Satisfied Customers who come back to us time after again.My other qualifications include:Level 2 NVQ in Chimney Sweeping (Construction)Registered OFTEC Solid Fuel for stove installations, service and repairs.Our goal is to meet and exceed the expectations of every customer. We take on all types of jobs from the smallest domestic stoves and open fires to larger commercial projects, all carried out to the highest standards and at very competitive prices. As sweeps we get called to clean, inspect and generally check the safety of many flues and appliances. These can range from stoves to inglenooks, oil boilers, solid fuel range cookers (AGA, Rayburn or Stanley), biomass, pizza ovens or school heating systems you just never know!We carry out CCTV inspections at varying levels. This takes away the guess work - it allows us to look for damage to flues, combustible materials and judge the internal diameter before fitting flexible liners. We also get called into inspect problem flues - appliances smoking back into the room, syphoning, damaged liners, chimney fires or poor installations to stoves with little or no draw. CCTV can help identify problems but the knowledge gained from experience is the main advantage. Stove maintenance is a big part of our work. We stock a large selection of stove spares, glass, heat paint, door rope and vermiculite bricks for various stoves. Keeping stoves burning safely is important for the welfare of your house and family.

Very professional service at a reasonable price

Dave swept my chimney to get it ready for the stove installation. It was well worth checking that the chimney was in a suitable condition before the expense of buying a stove. And I discussed what I needed to get ready before the work could be carried out.
The fitment was a quick and painless affair, for me anyway. The stove looks absolutely fabulous and it is ready for the cold snap next week!! 
I would highly recommend Dave and his team, they are thoughful and careful while doing the work and leave you with all the information you need to run an efficient stove.

Another great job done by Dave. He's really friendly and works immaculately, putting mats over carpets, leaving the premises spotlessly clean. He's very informative and works very quickly. I can't speak highly enough of him.

Efficient, friendly and spotless clean

I first contacted Dave about a log burner we inherited when buying our house, he came out the following day to take a look for me and couldn’t have been more helpful.  He is coming back once my builders have finished to carry out some more work and sweep the chimney.  I then contacted him again on the 18th March as I have a disused chimney in my kitchen where birds had been nesting.  He came the following day and again has been more than helpful.  He is knowledgable, extremely helpful and very tidy.  We will continue to use Dave and are glad to have found such an honest and helpful tradesman.

The service was excellent.  Dave explained at length how existing chimney cowls made using an open fire impossible at present - I had no idea - and made sure that the site was left safe.  He also described legal requirements around any fire burned in the grate and offered a quote for cowl removal.  It had been tempting just to light a fire at Christmas so he may genuinely have saved our lives.  I definitely recommend him and will be calling again for the cowl removal.
