Called out to a customer in Lydney today.  Wanted me to service all exterior doors and check on the security of each.   Found this particular Cylinder which was only good to hang your coat on... I really don’t know what goes through peoples heads when they install these. Surely they see it’s an incorrect fit!!!  Anyways, fitted a new much better fitting Cylinder. And a happy customer.  Job done.

Called out to a customer in Ross-on-wye, Euro Cylinder had failed.  Upon arrival I inspect the Cylinder and it had become Twisted inside the door/gearbox because it is too small... also the fixing screw for the Cylinder was knackered, somebody had had a right good go at it!   Had to Snap the old Cylinder and replaced with a new Standard one. Now nice and flush with the handle.  Is your Cylinder too long or too short for your door? If so you should get it changed before it fails and you end up being Locked out.  Job done.

Called out to Customer in Lydney. Door was closing as it should, however when opening the door there was some difficulty.  On closer inspection I noticed the latch was not going all the way into the gearbox. So I popped the mech off and removed the Gearbox to diagnose the problem. At this point a peace of metal fell out of the gearbox, evidently it was done for.  New Gearbox installed and door now working as it should be.  Job done.

Customers in Newport called door will not open. On arrival and a quick inspection it was evident the gearbox had failed causing the door to be stuck in the closed/locked position...  The spreaders and Air Pumps were deployed and slowly and gently eased the door open. Popped off the mech and replaced the gearbox.  job done!

Customers handles had broken because of work from a local handyman... New handles ordered and nice new Versa cylinder ordered too. This Cylinder looks very nice with these handles... I might have to get some myself! ?? Anyways... Job done!

This evenings job, customer had closed door behind her and left the keys inside.  After faffing around with the MICA card for 10 minutes or so (I was being stubborn) I gave up on that method and got the Electric Pick Gun out.   Was just about to give up on this method to try the Letterbox Opening tool when I eventually got the cylinder to turn using the EPG and tension tool.  Lesson learned: Not all latches are easily slipped using the MICA card. Got some quality time with the EPG though!  Job done.

Changed this old Mortice Sash Lock for a new one today.   As you can see the picture, the old one has seen better days. It is still functional, however it was very stiff when operating the key and handles.   It would have eventually failed and potentially locked the customer out, or in!   Is your Mortice stiff to operate? You should get it checked out, before you get locked out.

Nice new 3 Star Euro Cylinder for a customers front door.   Wanted to upgrade from their previous, very basic cylinder.   These should be the go to for any home owner, be it Thumb turn or a double ended cylinder.  Job done.

Local customers door was not operating how it should be. On inspection it was clear the old gearbox had failed and needed to be replaced.  New part arrived the next day and was installed. Door now working as it should be. Job done ??

Upon inspection it was obvious that the old Euro Cylinder had failed and had to be snapped in order to be removed from the door.  Just a basic cylinder replacement as the customer is replacing the door at some point.  Job done

Last nights job in the pouring rain...  Failed Gearbox meant the owners were locked out. The door needed Spreading and Air Pumps deployed. Then it was a case of gently pushing the door up from the bottom and then the top to disengage the rest of the mechanism.   This one took a while, mainly because of the elements but got it open in the end and new Gearbox on the way!

This customer was locked out of the property after loosing her keys. Spent a good bit of time trying to pick it open manually and then with the Pick gun. It wasn’t having it. Had to Drill the Cylinder. Unlocked the door and Installed a new Cylinder. All done within 45 minutes of arrival. Happy customer ?? Job Done ??

Standard key removal this evening. Find out customer did not have a spare key and the Cylinder would not budge... ended up snapping and replacing for a better fitting Cylinder. You can see on the snapped Cylinder how far it was poking out on the outside... new one now nice and flush ??   Job done ??
