Contacted Oliver for work needed on spalling brickwork & pointing on the front of the house,   The quote provided was good & Oliver provided various options with regards to design etc (which we were very happy with) & the time frame etc.. The work was Carried out to a very good standard with minimal fuss & disruption within the time stated & we were kept updated as to the progress from start to finish.

The builders were excellent from start to finish. They came out promptly, provided a fair and honest quote, and kept me fully informed throughout the work. The standard of workmanship was very high, they left everything clean and tidy afterwards, and importantly were never pushy or trying to upsell unnecessary work like I’ve experienced with other companies.
Second time I have used them, and will continue to do so.

Professional, Honest and Reliable Builders

I am very satisfied with the repointing, brickwork and storm seal treatment done by Magnus construction. It was very important to me to have someone who took pride in their work. Oliver expained he treats every property with care and carries out the work to a high standard as if it was his own home.  This was evident throughout, he was very knowledgeable, he chose bricks to match in really well with the original and took due care. Oliver kept me updated throughout, we had to sometimes wait for some better weather. I  would not hesitate to use this company again if I need anything else doing.

Brick replacement, Repointing and treatment

Very professional and punctual. Job completed to a high spec. Very tidy - the team ensured everything was tidy before they left each day. Accommodated the scaffolding which was already in situ for new windows being fitted following on from the pointing being completed. 

Pointing.

Definitely recommend. My house is around 400 years old and some of the stonework was in poor condition. The only access to the wall I needed pointing was through a neighbour’s garden, making it complicated. Oliver and Wes were able to make this uncomplicated. They knew exactly what materials were needed for this type of property and kept me informed throughout the job. It was an excellent job and they left the area very tidy - so happy neighbour. The job came in exactly as quoted, which was important to me. I will definitely want them to do another wall for me in the future.

They were punctual and reliable, turning up  when they said they would, both for the initial quote and throughout the job itself. They were friendly, professional, and easy to deal with, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Choosing HMG Brickwork to build our garden wall was a very good decision. They proved to be:

- good problem solvers: when new circumstances occurred they came up with a solution how to adjust the wall design to match the changes,
- extremely reliable: even though the preparation work was more difficult than originally expected they completed the job when originally promised,
- good at communicating: very friendly, we felt included in the design changes, very open in their pricing.

Following our acceptance of the quote, we were pleased to get an early start on the work, which was carried out with care and planning. The site was left tidy and secure overnight. Throughout the work we were kept informed of progress.   An excellent job of structural maintenance that has improved the overall appearance and viability of the property.
