My name is Alan and welcome to Hannaford and Sons Ltd, a family run business with over 35 years experience in groundworks and hard landscaping . My team of dedicated workers help provide a wide range of groundwork skills to meet your needs ,including driveways ,patios, paths , tarmac , block paving, brickwork and more . We specialise also in foundations ,drainage ,sub structure, soakaways, septic tanks . If it&#39;s on the ground or in it, will can do it! We work in the East Sussex area and are based in Eastbourne. My staff are fully trained with CITB acreditatioin , myself, NVQ level 6 in Management and my boys are NVQ Level 2 in groundworks. Alan and his team repointed an existing patio area for us and then extended it by building a long pathway around the house to match the existing style, they also removed an old gravel car parking area and concrete pathway. The finished areas look lovely and are very practical.  Alan understood what we were asking and negotiated around changes in levels.  He suggested some great aesthetic finishing touches like curves, it was cleanly finished close to the house and around drains, and where it joined the grass it was left as easy to mow as possible. His team were polite and hard working.

Not only did they do the essential work extremely well, Alan got to know us quickly and came up with some great ideas for improving our plans. New resin driveway

Fantastic job from start to finish. The team were professional, knowledgeable, friendly and polite. We had slightly unkempt lawn and hedges which we no longer wished to maintain. Alan helped us design a low-maintenance driveway while still keeping our tree as a feature. We opted for resin-bonded gravel due to it's aesthetic.

The lawn was dug out and cleared within a couple of days and drainage was added along the house to ensure no future damp issues.
All work was completed to high standard and we are incredibly happy with the results.

Communications excellent kept informed every step  with photos.   Polite,  worked hard, site kept tidy, didn't stop working, got job done quickly and   very good job around.  Would highly recommend.

Laying of patio

As a result of an inadequate damp survey for our house purchase, we were left with a major damp problem caused by a poorly installed Aco drainage system and a driveway needing to be lowered below the existing damp course. 
Alan came on board, connected the malfunctioning Aco drain to the main drainage system and relayed the sloping driveway to the correct angle. 
Alan and his son also transformed our back garden replacing a dated water feature with a lovely new spacious patio area. 
Alan is a lovely guy and we would definitely recommend him for any drainage, driveway or patio works.
