Hello, I&#39;m Mycroft Pembroke, the founder of Historic Joinery, thank you for viewing our profile.  I&#39;m an experienced maker and craftsperson. I qualified to MA level in UAL (University of the Arts London) and then studied traditional carving at City and Guilds School. I have been passionate about establishing a workshop in the center of London where bespoke items can be brought to the clients and produced in a way that allows them to see the process from start to finish.  I&#39;ve been in the construction industry since 2004 and have been running Historic Joinery since 2013. My hands-on approach ensures that every client is fully informed and engaged throughout the project, from initial planning to completion. With a strong focus on clear communication and technical expertise, I ensure a smooth, enjoyable process, making sure clients are involved and informed every step of the way.   What we do: <ul><li>Produce bespoke joinery items for homes.  </li><li>Work on listed buildings, and private houses in central London.  </li><li>Design produce and install made to measure joinery items which are: </li><li>Front doors, and other exterior and interior doors.  </li><li>Sash windows, especially for historic and listed buildings.  </li><li>Bookcases.  </li><li>Cupboards.  </li><li>Wardrobes.  </li><li>Shutters. </li></ul>  Please contact us if you wish to have joinery items built. Particularly on Georgian and Victorian homes.   All work is produced in our workshop in Kennington. You can come and see the workshop and discuss your project. You can see the entire process of building your commission.   We primarily build: <ul><li>Front doors for Victorian and Georgian and contemporary homes. </li><li>We can design, build and install hardwood front doors, painted and installed with hardware. This is totally made to suit the style or historical precedent of the building. For the quality of the product, we offer a very competitive price.  </li><li>Shutters to match originals or designed and installed to specification. We make all types of shutters; hinged, split leaf, and sliding shutters. Historic  Joinery

Mycroft is a skilled wood worker who exceeded my expectations. He did an amazing job re-sawing my Eastern Cedar wood boards and smoothing them making them look great. He completed the job one hour after I left the wood. Amazing timing, excellent finishing and good price . I would definitely continue working with him for my future projects.

Historic Joinery were brilliant from start to finish. We needed new shutters made to match the original Georgian ones. Mycroft gave a great quote, delivered and installed the shutters on time. Really pleased with the result, they’re exactly like the original ones.

Mycroft’s work was immaculate. He is incredibly knowledgable about conservation, and explained clearly what could be done. He gave us a good quote and complete the work sooner than anyone else said they could.
He was also always polite, on time and very thoughtful, sweeping and clearing up after himself.

Bespoke heritage joinery in our grade II listed house

Mycroft came to assess the job at the time/day he promised and subsequently did the work on the agreed date.
I had been told the door couldn’t be saved and consequently both doors of the cupboard would have to be replaced. Not only was he able to repair the original door and surround but did an excellent job which saved me a great deal of money.
He also did a couple of small jobs in the kitchen (redrilling a cupboard door and reaffixing the kickboard).
I can’t praise him highly enough: honest, hardworking and trustworthy. 
I highly recommend him.
