An Equinox roof finished with Britmet shingle solved our clients heat loss concerns allowing for better use of her conservatory all year round.

As you'll see on the back wall, we raised the pitch of the roof for a better ceiling height. Wiring for LED spotlights and battens installed, ready for the plasterboard.

The exterior is almost done, just ridge tile and gutters left! Britmet shingle tile comes in a range of colours, our client chose Rustic Brown to match the house roof.

Between the boarding and roof tile a breathable membrane as well as batten are installed to allow space for air movement.

Felt trays installed between the OSB board and breathable membrane to provide a drip edge into the gutters once installed.

A low pitched glass roof which was open to the house, our client was feeling the effects of heat loss so decided to change the roof to solve the issue.

Project C.

If your conservatory has too much glass we can built up the walls with insulated stud work and clad the exterior with Hardie board Cedar cladding for a modern look. 

An Equinox tiled roof with Linear flush sash frames were used to refurbish an existing conservatory that was part of our clients kitchen, improving the overall energy efficiency of the space.

A flush sash picture window was our client's dream, they wanted to enjoy coffee in the conservatory every morning with minimal disruption to the garden views.

Equinox insulated roof with Taco slate effect and Vega fixed glass panels.

New front door using Linear 70mm UPVC in agate grey (also know as painswick green) with a custom lead design inspired by the art deco period.

Our work

Project L.

In combination with the Equinox insulated roof, Vega fixed glass panels use Activ blue glass technology to make the space thermally efficient while still flooding the roof with natural light.

PIR insulation attached to the plasterboard makes up the second layer of insulation in an Equinox roof, creating a barrier to keep the heat in for Winter and out in Summer.

All the joins between pieces of EPS insulation have aluminium tape allied to seal any small air gaps. Batten is then fitted for the insulated plasterboard to be fixed onto.

Tapco slate effect tiles in Pewter Grey were selected by our client to be sympathetic to their period property. A range of colours is available to allow the tiles to be matched to your home.

Batten and vally trays fitted over breathable membrane to ensure air movement and drainage under the tiles.

The Equinox roof is built up layer by layer, here you can see the EPS insulation (any gaps between pieces are foamed to create a continuous layer) about to be covered with OBS board ready for tiling.

While this conservatory built by Homeview has been much loved for 20 years it's time for a more modern insulated refurbishment using newer technology.

Project T.

HOMEVIEW BUILDERS LTD

Homeview installed a great 'P' shaped Conservatory some 18 years ago. The polycarbonate roof was getting past it and very energy inefficient. So time for a change and upgrade.

We are so pleased with the energy efficient warm roof which looks fantastic outside with the lightweight Slate tile. All the work done on time with minimal disruption to us in the house. Quality is great.

The most amazing thing is it really has changed the space from a cold conservatory into a large warm room and just extended the house.

Replacement of Polycarbonate Conservatory roof with a warm slate tile roof

Our initial requirements were for the replacement of a glass roof with a solid tiled Warmer Roof Plus. During inspection prior to its installation a number of problems were discovered with the existing double glazed panes, so the work expanded to included new frames and glass. The entire conservatory was rebuilt by one person. A plasterer completed the new roof and an electrician installed spotlights. We also replaced the front door, garage door and the gutters and downpipes. All the work was completed by the Homeview team to a very high standard. I am very happy to recommend Homeview.

Very easy to deal with from needs analysis to quotation to refit execution.  Good communication maintained throughout the process and a quality finish.  Very happy with all aspects of the project and would happily recommend to anyone else considering work of this type.
