Product Terms – Approved

1. What is Approved

Approved is a paid Checkatrade membership. It gives you a profile on Checkatrade so customers can view your business, read your reviews and contact you.

These terms apply alongside our Master Service Terms. Words and phrases used in these terms have the same meaning as in the Master Service Terms.

2. What we provide

As part of your Approved membership, we provide:

• A profile on the Platform where you can display your Business Content and receive Reviews;

• Access to the Trade App; and

• A dedicated Checkatrade Secure Contact number and in-app messaging so customers can contact you.

We may make your profile, services and Business Content available through third-party platforms and channels and introduce features as part of the Approved service that help customers contact or engage with you.

Certain customer engagement features may be enabled automatically for Approved tradespeople. Where this applies, we will explain the feature and how you can manage or opt out of it.

3. Visibility

Your profile will only appear on the Platform when a user searches for your business by name. 

To appear more widely across the Platform, you will need to purchase additional services.

4. Your website

We may offer a website for your business as part of your Approved membership. It may be available on a limited or selective basis, and we may introduce charges for it in the future. If we do, we will notify you in advance.

If we provide you with a website:

• We decide how the website is designed, built and presented

• We may use your Business Content on the website

• We may update, change, suspend, remove or replace the website at any time

• We do not guarantee traffic, rankings, enquiries or any other results

5. Additional services

As an Approved tradesperson, you may also be able to access other Checkatrade services, including:

• Trademore (job management and invoicing)

• Payment Services

• Book & Pay

These services:

• Are separate from Approved

• May have additional fees

• May be subject to separate terms

We may withdraw, replace, amend or discontinue these services at any time. We are not responsible for any loss or disruption caused by changes to these services.

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the information and content you provide.

You must:

• Keep your information accurate and up to date

• Make sure anything you provide is true and not misleading

• Have all rights, permissions and lawful bases needed to provide any content and for us to use it, including photos and personal data

7. Fees and payment

Your fees are set out in your Confirmation Email.

• We invoice monthly in advance

• Payment is due immediately on receipt

8. If your membership ends

If your Approved Service ends for any reason:

• You will move onto our Free Profile Service and can continue to display your Business Content and collect Reviews

• The Master Service Terms and Free Profile terms will continue to apply

• We will stop providing your Secure Contact number and messaging

• We may take down or disable your website immediately

• If you want to continue using any separate paid service, you may need to buy it separately

9. Updates

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
