Product Terms - Opportunities Board

Effective 15 May 2026

These Terms explain how the Opportunities Board works and what You can expect when You use it.

An “Opportunity” is a customer enquiry submitted through Checkatrade that We choose to show on the Opportunities Board.

By purchasing Credits or unlocking an Opportunity, You agree to these Terms. They apply in addition to the Master Service Terms and any other applicable terms. If there is any conflict, these Terms will take priority.

Quick summary

  • The Opportunities Board lets You browse and unlock customer enquiries.

  • You decide which Opportunities to unlock. There is no minimum commitment and no obligation to unlock any Opportunity.

  • Unlocking an Opportunity gives You access to the customer’s contact details. It does not guarantee a response, a job, or that You will be selected by the customer.

  • Your contract for any resulting job is directly between You and the customer.

  • Opportunities are unlocked using Credits purchased through Checkatrade.

  • Purchased Credits do not expire.

  • Promotional or goodwill Credits may expire. If they do, We’ll let You know when.

  • Once an Opportunity is unlocked, the Credits used cannot be refunded or reversed.

1. The Opportunities Board

You choose which Opportunities to unlock and whether an Opportunity is right for Your business. There is no minimum commitment and no obligation to unlock any Opportunities.

2. Access to the Opportunities Board

You must have a paid Checkatrade membership to access the Opportunities Board.

We may modify, suspend or withdraw the Opportunities Board, or Your access to it, at any time.

3. Opportunities

We decide which Opportunities appear on the Opportunities Board and how they are shown. We may remove Opportunities at any time.

Opportunities are not recommendations or reserved for You, and multiple trades may unlock the same Opportunity.

We cannot guarantee how many Opportunities You’ll receive, or that the information shown will always be accurate, complete or available when You choose to unlock it.

How Credits Work

A “Credit” is a credit purchased through Checkatrade which can be used to unlock Opportunities on the Opportunities Board.

Credits can only be used to unlock Opportunities on the Opportunities Board. They are not cash and cannot be exchanged for money.

Credits are personal to Your Checkatrade account. You cannot transfer or share them with another account, or sell or exchange them for cash.

Credits cannot be used for Checkatrade memberships, subscriptions or any other Checkatrade product or service.

Buying Credits

Credits must be purchased upfront using payment methods approved by Checkatrade.

If You buy Credits through the Checkatrade app, Your purchase may be processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Their payment and refund rules may also apply.

Checkatrade may change the price of Credits or the number of Credits needed to unlock an Opportunity from time to time.

If You were using the Opportunities Board before the Effective Date, You may continue to use the previous pay-per-unlock model for a limited transition period.

Any outstanding fees from the pay-per-unlock model remain payable in line with the Master Service Terms.

Using Credits

We will always show You how many Credits are needed before You unlock an Opportunity.

When You unlock an Opportunity, You agree that the number of Credits shown will be deducted from Your Credit balance.

You will not receive a refund if a customer does not respond, cancels the job or chooses another trade.L

Once an Opportunity has been unlocked, the unlock cannot be reversed and the Credits used cannot be recovered.

Unlocking an Opportunity does not guarantee that the customer will:

  • respond;

  • choose You; or

  • proceed with the work.

Customers may contact multiple trades, choose another trade, or decide not to proceed with the job.

Credit expiry

Credits do not expire.

From time to time, Checkatrade may issue promotional or goodwill Credits which may have an expiry date. Where applicable, We’ll let You know when those Credits expire.

Refunds and payment reversals

Credits are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law. This applies whether or not You have used them.

Unlocking an Opportunity does not guarantee that the customer will respond, choose You or proceed with the work.

If a payment for Credits is reversed after those Credits have already been used, We may charge Your account for the Opportunities unlocked using those Credits.

5. Restrictions and misuse

If Your account is closed, any unused Credits in Your account will be removed and cannot be refunded or transferred.

If Your account is suspended, restricted or deactivated under Our Deactivations and Sanctions Policy, We may remove Credits or restrict access to the Opportunities Board.

6. Changes to the Opportunities Board

Checkatrade may update or change:

  • the Opportunities Board;

  • how Opportunities are shown;

  • available Credit packs; or

  • how Credits work.
