  This person promised a “like‑for‑like” replacement of my canopy brace. That should have included the original mortice‑and‑tenon joint, but that was not the case. They didn’t prop the canopy, cut the existing brace in place, and tried to fit a butt‑cut piece of timber with a single badly placed screw. The work ignored basic timber‑engineering principles and had no structural integrity. I had to stop them before they damaged the next bracket and ended up paying them just to leave. The whole job then had to be redone properly by someone else including mortice and tenon (aka "like for like")
