  Builder Abandoned Project After Overpayment – Delays, Defective Work, and Unfulfilled Promises

  The worst experience I could have. B&J Builders signed a contract to complete the Brickwork and Blockwork (Labour Only Contract) dated 7 May 2026 relating to a property in Sutton Coldfield. The trade received 67% of the contract value in cash while the actual work done was 34% when the trade left the work on 21st May 2026. Its been more than a month, the trade did not come back on work despite repeated broken promises. Building Control also identified defective DPC installation requiring remedial work. It has caused me not only huge financial damages but also a lot of mental distress.
