  replacement of inlet valve

  Was told someone would call me back for a quote within 2 hrs but then they turned up at my door 30 mins later, I let them in to look at the job and give quote which was £228 inclusive of VAT. As a new home owner knowing nothing about the cost of calling out a plumber or the parts needed I agreed and to be fair, they were quick, very pleasant and fixed the problem in 10-15 minutes. However, I have since heard from various other tradesmen who have said I was overcharged for the job and it should have cost no more than £130. For that reason, I am unlikely to use again and will shop around - turning up to the house unannounced feels like a bit of a deliberate tactic as obviously less likely to say no once someone is already here and able to quickly resolve the problem.
