  Emergency door hinge repair

  Mark answered our request for an emergency repair to broken hinges on UPVC front door shortly after request placed with Checkatrade. He visited the following day, identified the hinges on our 2006 door; sourced them , came back and fitted. All this 2 days before Christmas, when no other company could visit until January. Excellent service and cheaper than other companies. Very happy with his service and work and we will call on him again.

  Replacement of Colt Roto skylight in ground floor extension with Velux skylight

  Paul has an attentive and courteous manner and is very professional. He inspected the 25 year old Roto skylight which had started leaking and suggested a Velux replacemant to which we agreed. Delayed by one day due to bad weather he removed the old skylight and fitted the Velux replacement. The installation fits neatly into the roof without damage to the surrounding slates and to date appears completely waterproof. Whilst there he removed a part of the roof which has had a leak since installation by Plym roofing. He made no charge for this additional work and recommendation.

  Roof repair

  Our single storey extension roof was repaired 3 years ago but had a leak. The installer returned under his guarantee and undertook a repair. This was not effective and did not respond to a further request to try again. Paul Smoker contacted me via checkatrade and repaired the problem at the 2nd attempt. I'm very pleased he undertook this small job and hopefully resolved the problem - the winter will tell. He advised me to contact him again should there be a problem. I have no hesitation in recommending him and his company

  Replacement skylight

  Due to delays caused by health, difficulties in sizing from info. On the old window, misinformation from the manufacturer and incorrect size of double glazed unit for factory the skylight was eventually fitted. At all times Stuart kept me informed admitted the mistake he had made (not checking manufactured size) and advised of the difficulties he had experienced with Colt Roto. I felt he attempted at all times to be transparent and to do a good job.
