  Path around the house

  David laid a new path around the side of the house (late 2023). Middle quote. Good on the job, friendly. Minor quibbles on details, but lessons learned on how to specify and manage. On a small area of pavers, mortar didn't set (weather). Despite chasing, it took well over a year to return and fix, and only when I found some additional paid tasks. Standard wasn't quite as good 2nd time. I would have recommended based on the first job, but can't following the 2nd. Your job will probably be OK, but good luck getting them back if there's any issues.

  Independent opinion on roofing work and costs

  On short-notice, Michael provided an independent review of another contractor's scope of work including extensive pointing and brick repair. Michael provided helpful advice and insight on things to look out for and costs. I would consider him for future works.

  Inspection and flashing repair

  Carl came out to inspect the roof and advise of what may be the issue in relation to a historic leak in an upstairs room. He advised doing some minor work and seeing how that may affect the roof before committing to anything else. He adjusted the flashing and added some plugs and sealant, completed this in a few mins during the assessment, and didn't charge. Will definitely stay in touch if the problem doesn't resolve. Thanks

  Insulated roof

  Office were efficient to deal with and honoured an old quote. Guys were on time, polite, and got the work done quickly. Reviewed the results with me and showed me what they'd done. Minor issue with charging for 70m2 when the laid area was less than that, but resolved fairly and promptly. Would recommend.

  Laid laminate flooring

  Dave laid laminate flooring in our living room and dining room. Nice guy, price was competitive, the work that was actually done was fine, but timekeeping was terrible. Cancelled the job as he kept not turning up. Was 2 hrs late on each day he worked, and pushed back the work 4 times. May have been valid excuses (I don't trust my judgement now), but there comes a point when you can't manage your day as you have no idea if he would turn up.

  Gutter and roof repairs.

  William has been very helpful, promptly discussing the job via email prior to commencing work and throughout the job. He was reasonably detailed in the quote, and we had an extended discussion via email which was appreciated. He provided photos before and after the work, for most of the work, as per my request, and completed the work when planned and on time. He included some minor repairs that were not part of the original scope. I would recommend and use again if required.

  Dave was helpful in the planning of the job, answering questions before committing to him as a contractor. He was prompt and clear regarding discussions of the job. Work was thorough, fairly neat and sympathetic to surrounding furnishings, especially considering the limited space available.

  Giles supplied and fitted a set of wall cabinets, and base units to match and complete my kitchen. He took a reasonable amount of time initially to discuss the options for units and provide a quote. He then modified the quote twice under my request. The work was begun relatively quickly (a few weeks), and completed within time scale and budget. Giles is exceptionally friendly and I would recommend and will use again if I have need.

  Trim overhanging willow tree.

  Antonio was friendly and helpful, quote was the cheapest, happy with the work. He trimmed back all overhanging branches of an overgrown willow, as well as a few other branches, along a fence-line about 10m long. Took logs and disposed of. Will use again and recommend.
