  I was quoted £245 for a service of my solar heating system. After the job was finished I was given a bill for an additional £240 for the drain and refill of the system. I had not asked for a breakdown of what was included so naturally assumed that the work being done was part of the service. Note that the only way to know if the system needs filling is to drain it and even if it had been full, would you really put the old fluid back in? Looks like they probably do this every time and then hide behind the, “may be a charge for fluid”. No maybe about it.

  Hallway and cloakroom sanding and refinishing

  The hallway was originally coated in several layers of paint. The boards were a mixture of old and new and the cloakroom floor was a jumble of plank widths. The floors were stripped back to bare wood, any damaged boards were replaced with matching old timber, all gaps between boards were filled with wood fillets. The cloakroom boards were lifted and replaced to match the hall boards. The existing newer timber was stained to match the old boards. The floors were then sealed and two coats of varnish applied. Faultless workmanship, no mess or dust. Excellent.
