  a window seems to have been forced open when painted, causing a not insubstantial crack. We fully accept that accidents happen and have given them every opportunity to be up front about what did, but sadly it's just been a classic case of too many excuses, including "I'd also need a hammel and chisel to do that damage! Its poorly fitted windows nothing to do with us". But"poorly fitted windows" (in situ for nearly 10 yrs with no issues other than some missing hardware; hardware which is clearly still on the subject window) do not generally suffer damage which would require a hammer & chisel
