  Significant Price Increase After Work Started – Proceed with Caution

  Quoted £12k to replace my flat roof and paid a £4k deposit. Once opened up, rotten timbers were found (not unexpected) and I accepted extra work was needed. I was then quoted an extra £13.5k (£25.5k total) just 3 days before Christmas, leaving me with very few options. After I challenged this, the price reduced several times. Another roofer completed the entire project for around £13.5k. Checkatrade received no response to my complaint and suspended their membership at the time. I have received neither a response nor the partial refund I requested. Proceed with caution.
