Here's all you need to about your jobs and Checkatrade:

Attaching Photos to Your Job

Photos help trades understand the issue quickly and give more accurate quotes.

How to attach photos

  1. Open the Inbox

  2. Tap Add Attachments in your chat

  3. Take a new photo or upload one from your gallery

  4. Grant photo access if your phone asks for permission

Allowing photo access

On iOS (iPhone):

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Privacy & Security → Photos

  3. Find Checkatrade

  4. Turn on access

On Android:

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Apps → Checkatrade → Permissions → Photos and videos

  3. Select Allow

Cancelling an Appointment or Job

To cancel an appointment

Send a message to the trade — they can cancel the appointment for you.

To close a job

  1. Open the app

  2. Go to My Jobs

  3. Choose the job

  4. Tap the three dots (⋯)

  5. Select Close the job

You cannot delete a job once posted. Closed jobs stay in your history for reference.

No Replies From Trades

If you haven’t heard back yet:

  • Most trades respond within 1–2 working days

  • Send a follow-up message — often that’s all it takes

Still no reply?

  1. Go to My Jobs

  2. Tap the three dots (⋯)

  3. Select Add more trades

This shares your job with more local trades and increases your chances of a response.

Not Going Ahead With a Trade

If you’ve changed your mind:

  1. Go to My Jobs

  2. Select the job

  3. Tap the three dots next to the trade

  4. Choose Withdraw request

  5. Follow the steps

This lets the trade know you won’t be proceeding.

Closing or Deleting a Job

You can close a job, but not delete it.

To close:

  1. Open My Jobs

  2. Select the job

  3. Tap the three dots

  4. Choose Close the job

Closed jobs stay in your history so you can refer back to them later.
