How can I request a refund for work completed in my home?

If you aren’t happy with the work that a trade has done and would like a refund, you will need to speak to the trade about this.
If you aren’t happy with the work that a trade has done and would like a refund, you will need to speak to the trade about this. Refunds are at the discretion of the trade who provided the service and Checkatrade does not handle or determine refunds.
In our how to resolve an issue with a trade guide we suggest the following steps to help resolve issues:
Contact the trade directly As soon as you’re aware of an issue contact the trade who completed the work to explain your concerns and discuss what actions can be taken.
Keep evidence of their work Keeping records of the work a trade does for you is always a good idea but a digital trail will help if you wanted to take the complaint further.
Remember to be precise but also be calm and courteous. Most trades will take any issues seriously and we expect them to resolve them professionally and quickly
