Getting Jobs through Checkatrade
Created 11/25

This guide explains how leads work on Checkatrade, what to expect depending on your membership type, and the steps you can take to increase the amount of work you receive. You’ll also learn how to improve lead quality, boost your visibility, and understand what to do if enquiries don’t feel right for your business.
Here's all you need to know about getting jobs through Checkatrade:
Approved member and not receiving jobs?
Approved members do not appear in standard search results, so you shouldn’t expect leads through location or trade searches.
Homeowners can still find you by searching your business name, so keeping your profile updated will help you convert those customers.
Want more work?
If you’re on a Fixed Plan, browse the Campaigns section in the Members Area for visibility-boosting add-ons.
Not on a Fixed Plan? Call us on 03330 329 557 — we’ll walk you through your options.
Getting poor-quality or irrelevant leads?
Mark spam, decline poor-fit jobs with a reason, and review your subcategories. These actions directly improve future lead matching.
Just joined and not getting enquiries yet?
Profiles go live within ~24 hours after vetting. A strong profile with PLI, accreditations, photos, a clear description and early reviews will help you start attracting more work.
What Jobs You’ll Receive as an Approved Member
Approved membership does not include appearing in standard search results on Checkatrade. This means you won’t receive leads the same way full members do.
You still receive valuable benefits:
Access to all member perks
Ability to promote yourself as an Approved & Guaranteed Checkatrade member
Use of the Checkatrade logo on vans, websites and marketing materials
Customers can still find you by searching your name, so it’s important to:
Keep photos of your work updated
Collect and display recent reviews
Maintain a clear, accurate description of your services
These updates help you convert customers who already know you or have seen your branding elsewhere.
Marking Spam Leads: How It Helps Us Improve
We work hard to block fake, irrelevant or inappropriate enquiries — but occasionally one can slip through.
A spam lead includes:
Enquiries that aren’t genuine
Requests from competitors
Anything that breaks our code of conduct
How to report a spam lead
Open the job notification
Review the details
Tap Decline
Choose Spam
Flagging spam helps us refine our filters, reduce time-wasters and improve the overall quality of leads for everyone.
