PRODUCT TERMS – EXPRESS BY CHECKATRADE

INTRODUCTION

Express by Checkatrade” is a Service provided by Checkatrade – both terms are defined in our Master Service Terms. You can find details about Express by Checkatrade by clicking here.

These Terms shall apply in addition to the Master Service Terms to the provision of Express by Checkatrade on or after 12 March 2025.

DEFINITIONS

Words and phrases used in these Express by Checkatrade Terms shall have the same meaning as set out in the Master Service Terms unless otherwise set out below:

Completed means Works concluded to the satisfaction of the Customer.

Portal means the dedicated Express by Checkatrade page on our Platform – here.

Works means any work quoted for, carried out or to be carried out by You for a Customer, and includes the supply of a service and/or the supply of goods and/or materials and/or the installation of those goods. 

EXPRESS BY CHECKATRADE

You may request to sign up to Express by Checkatrade on the Trade App. If We accept your request, We will send You a Confirmation Email.

We will provide You with the Express by Checkatrade Service in consideration for a service fee charged on each Opportunity (“Service Fee”). We will not charge any other fees for the Opportunities and such Opportunities will not come out of Your existing lead quota.

OUR OBLIGATIONS

From time to time, We may deliver opportunities to You in the Category (or Categories) within your service location(s) on a non-exclusive basis (“Opportunity”).

The number of Opportunities We put forward to You at Our discretion will depend on several factors, including but not limited to:

your average review score;

your business standing with Checkatrade regarding any outstanding debt or Guarantee claim investigations;

the season;

demand from Customers; and/ or

other prevailing market conditions from time to time.

We do not promise a minimum number of Opportunities and shall have no liability to You in the event you do not receive Opportunities from Us.

We will help You and the Customer with various coordination tasks related to the Services, when needed, including but not limited to sending You Opportunity details and information from Customers and scheduling appointments.

YOUR OBLIGATIONS

If You receive an Opportunity, it shall set out sufficient detail, including but not limited to:

the Customer’s availability for You to do the Opportunity;

the amount You shall receive for completing the Opportunity (inclusive of the Service Fee) (“Fee”);

description and/ or pictures of the Opportunity; and/or

location of the Opportunity,

together, the “Opportunity Criteria”.

When You receive an Opportunity, You can choose to accept it based on the Opportunity Criteria by confirming Your preferred time slot based on the Customers availability.

Prior to accepting the Opportunity, You should review the Opportunity to ensure You are qualified to fulfil the Opportunity. We have no liability for any accepted Opportunity where You do not have the necessary qualifications.

If You accept the Opportunity, it will become a Confirmed Appointment. We will provide You with a confirmation email of the same setting out the:

contact details of the Customer; and

address of the Customer.

You shall ensure that all queries, questions or communications from the Customers are answered within 24 hours of receiving them.

If You believe the Fee needs to be increased after talking to the Customer, or visiting the site, or for any other reason, You and the Customer must agree and the Customer must request a Fee change in the Platform prior to any Works being done.

You shall work with Us on all things related to the Services. This includes giving Us any financial or other information We need about the Opportunity, the goods, services, or materials used in the work, and ongoing and completed status of the work.

CANCELLATION BY THE CUSTOMER:

If a Customer cancels the Confirmed Appointment, You will be notified on the Portal, by email and/or SMS.

If a Customer cancels the Confirmed Appointment less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, You shall receive a payment that is the greater of (i) 25% of the total Fee for Confirmed Appointments or (ii) £55.00 (“Cancellation Fee”).

If You arrive onsite but cannot access the Works, You shall notify Us via the Portal and the Confirmed Appointment will be cancelled, and You shall receive a payment that is the greater of (i) 25% of the total Fee for Confirmed Appointment or (ii) £55.00.

If a Customer is unavailable or unresponsive at the scheduled Confirmed Appointment time, preventing Works completion, You will notify Us via the Portal and You shall receive a payment that is (i) the greater of 25% or (ii) £55.00.

All payments, charges, receipts are subject to the deduction of any applicable taxes from time to time due and payable.

CANCELLATION BY YOU

We understand that sometimes You may need to cancel a Confirmed Appointment. In the event that You need to cancel, You must notify the Customer via the Portal of Your decision to cancel as soon as possible and always in advance of the date and time of the Confirmed Appointment.

If You repeatedly cancel, reschedule or otherwise vary a Confirmed Appointment with less than twenty-four (24) hours' notice prior to the Confirmed Appointment We reserve the right to:

Suspend the Express by Checkatrade Services in accordance with clause 59 of the Master Service Terms or terminate;

terminate these Terms by giving You 7 days’ notice; or

terminate the Agreement in accordance with clause 65 of the Master Service Terms.

COMPLETION OF AN OPPORTUNITYAND PAYMENT

Upon completion of the Works (“Completed”), You shall, within 24 hours, confirm the completion on the Portal and upload photos evidencing the Completed Works.

The Customer will have 24 hours to:

confirm the Works are Completed; or

notify Us of any rectification Works they consider should be carried out.

We will seek to facilitate discussions and arrangements regarding any request for rectification between You and the Customer but shall have no liability in relation to them or liabilities related to (direct or indirectly) the completion of an Opportunity.

You shall be paid the Fee within seven (7) Business Days of the Customer confirming the Works are Completed.

The Fee is exclusive of VAT and You are solely responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting any applicable taxes, including but not limited to Value Added Tax (“VAT”), income tax, or other regulatory charges. We do not collect or remit any taxes on Your behalf, nor do We provide tax advice. You acknowledge that it is your obligation to comply with all applicable tax laws and regulations.

Failure to fulfil Your tax obligations may result in suspension or removal from the platform, at Our sole discretion.
