Bircham Electrical Services grossly overcharged me for replacing 2 electrical fittings. The retail price for both fittings was approx £80 and it took approx 1 hour to carry out the work. And the charge?.....£300 with no VAT. When challenged this was reduced to £250. I have paid him £200 (which I still believe to be excessive) and am referring the matter to the TS. You have been warned.
Response from Bircham Electrical Services Ltd
The situation was that I didn’t provide her with a quote in advance of the works. She seemed in a hurry and I was keen to get the job done, customer wanted an external light and an internal extractor fan replaced. I sourced and collected the materials, and completed both replacements in a timely manner, leaving no mess behind. I was polite throughout and she was more than happy with the work until I issued her with the invoice. I do and have admitted to her that I had issued an incorrect invoice initially, and was happy to correct it. She was unhappy with the price I charged and chose to short pay the invoice as a result. I am an experienced, established professional and I pride myself on my workmanship and my customer service. I did not overcharge her, and therefore posting a review that a) incorrectly states I did, and b) grades my tidiness, reliability, courtesy and workmanship down is incorrect and libellous. I am however happy to accept a review where the rating is accurate (which would be at least 9’s in my opinion) and accept a fair representation on ‘quote accuracy’ since there was no quote.
