Todays job is Timing belt and water pump change on a VW Transporter 1.9 TDI
These are the parts we are going to fit today!
Time to get started!
Air box and boost pipes removed for better access
Belt cover removed, pipes and power steering resevoir relocated to provide better access
Engine mount removed and auxillary belt and tensioner removed
VW PD timing belt service kit (locking tools)
Timing belt change tools and nice new genuine parts waiting to be fitted!
Locking tools all inserted in camshaft and on crankshaft sprocket, ready to be removed!
Timing belt removed, coolant drained and ready for new parts to be fitted.
Old water pum, cambelt, tensioner and guide pulley, (waterpump goes back to VW for reconditioning) the rest is heading for the bin!
Genuine VW supplied timing belt kit, new tensioner, pump, guide pulley, belt and bolts.
Next to install water pump
New belt and ancillary's, now torquing up the bolts to maunfacturers specification
Tensioner is now tight, now to turn over by hand and check everything is as its meant to be.
All finished, coolant filled back up and all re,assembled ready to give back to the owner.
