On May 13th 2021, we accepted a quote from Brendan to build custom wardrobes in three rooms, plus fitted lounge units. We imagined the job would be done in one go. However, it took over NINE MONTHS to complete! Brendan is semi-retired and only works part time, hence it took so long. Some of the individual specifications were lost or forgotten during that time, so we had to waste our time going through them all again. We're pleased with the final results, they are very well made units. But we wouldn't use Brendan again because the project took far too long and became stressful.

I was surprised with this review.
The main complaint is the time taken for the job, not the workmanship.
First of all, when people contact me, I tell them when I can start job and ask them if they are prepared to wait. I do each job in the order it comes to me after agreeing a design and a price.
The customer agreed the design of his first wardrobe at end of May. He must have thought that he had block booked me to do all the work in sequence from then.
After doing his first wardrobe was complete, he mentioned a further 2 wardrobes. However, I had another customer's job booked in to do in the order it was received. I then went back to the customer and did another two additional wardrobes in June/July.
The last project was two alcove units to my design. On 24th November, I visited and discussed the project with the client. He later involved an interior designer in modifying my design and materials used and adding LED lighting to it. All these changes added to the time taken. I started his job in the workshop a week later. The weekend before Christmas, I was knocked off my bicycle and injured my shoulder and rib. I could not work.
I completed his alcove units on Friday 25th February and he seemed happy and has paid the outstanding balance.
Over the last period, all trades people have had difficulties in securing ready supplies of timber products.
