Inspect several areas of concern around the house

    Posted Today

I contacted Harry as I had concerns about damp issues after a prolonged period of very cold weather. He rang me back very promptly and within 24 hours had visited the house. He arrived at exactly the time he said he would and even messaged me to say he was on his way. . He explained in detail what had caused the issues and reassured me much of it was down to exterior brickwork needing repointing and silicone sealant around windows needing replacing. He also recommended leaving a low level of heat on overnight on very cold nights as the bedroom problems are due to condensation. Honest and fair

    Damp proofing

    Posted 20 December 2024

I contacted for a small amount of damp proofing we needed following a survey. I contacted Harrison Taylor of Cheshire damp proofing. He was polite on the phone, came to quote on time and did the job exactly when he said he would! He completed it within a couple of days and he made very little mess and was no hassle to deal with. Guarantee was sent as soon as work was complete. Very happy with everything and he made the process stress free. Would recommend him 💯.

    Damp survey

    Posted 09 November 2024

Harry came to look at some damp issues that were worrying us. He confirmed fairly quickly that in fact they were old issues that were dried out, and that no work was needed. We concluded that the interior mould must have been condensation damp from a period where we had left our house unoccupied and unheated for several years whilst working abroad. We are extremely grateful that Harry was able to put our worries to rest, and were very pleased and surprised to find that there was no charge for this service. Would recommend.

Company info

I have been working in this industry for some years but now have the experience to run my own business.

I can tackle and resolve all kinds of problems caused by damp including:

Penetrating Damp

Penetrating damp is usually caused by problems with your building structure or plumbing where a problem has allowed water to infiltrate the property. Problems with the pointing of your property, cracks in the brickwork, broken guttering, problems with the property plumbing, a down pipe that has become broken or possibly the results localised floods.

Condensation Treatment

Condensation is simply the moisture caused by everyday living that can cause real damp problems if left untreated. Moisture gets absorbed into the atmosphere of your property and when the property cools down the moisture condenses on cool surfaces. The result is condensation, an extremely underestimated cause of damage to our homes and is almost certainly the most common form of dampness within a building. Thankfully, with everyday living, there are solutions to the problem through condensation treatments.

Damp Coursing

Cheshire Damp Proofing offer a full damp-proof course service, as a horizontal barrier in a wall designed to resist moisture rising through the structure, a process known as rising damp.

A damp-proof membrane (DPM) performs a similar function for a solid floor. Moisture resistance is not necessarily absolute: it is usually defined by a specific test method, limits, and engineering tolerances. In simpler words, DPC is used to stop dampness in buildings.
