I booked this service in September to move me out of a London apartment into a home in Manchester. They moved my antique wardrobes by dragging them on the floor with no protection to the floor, which left several scratches to the floor in my apartment and common areas. My landlord and I witnessed this. I was charged £625, and notified the company mid-move of the damage. They also caused substantial damage to the wardrobes themselves. The owner has continually blamed this on me despite£10000 insurance and I have to take them to court
Response from Manchester Removals and Storage Ltd
I feel this review is factually inaccurate, we’ve emails and a signed job sheet which contradicts these allegations.
The customer declined our dismantling service, she claimed competency in dismantling a wardrobe. She failed to remove a screw from the base which caused a scratch when lowered to get under the doorway. The men identified the cause, but unfortunately too late. Had she removed the screw then damage would not have occurred.
At the end of all moves we require an inspection and a job sheet to be signed off. She only identified 1 scratch and no mention of substantial damage to the wardrobe. The has been no evidence provided of any damage to the wardrobe. Surely, had she and the landlord witnessed the damage then they would have added it to the signed job sheet.
She claims she notified the office mid move, when in fact she emailed later once the men had left, all damage must be notified whilst the crew are present.
I have requested a response from the customer but she has not explained the above inaccuracies in her review.
We take all genuine claims seriously and will resolve all issues in accordance with our complaints handling policy.
