The plumber arrived on time. He managed to repair the fault and left the boiler in a working condition, which was a relief as it was on a cold day just before a bank holiday. He did seem to take a long time to do the repair. A few days after he did the job, I noticed that he had left the cable box (with mains electricity cables) held together and stuck to the wall with duct tape, with the wires still clearly visible. I had to call out another plumber to make it safe.
