    Mike has always been so courteous and helpful when he arrives at our house and has been a few times over the last few years as we have a persistent starling issue in the loft which has led to bird mites. Unfortunately though, Mike has been unreliable and has abandoned rat investigation work a couple of times without any communication at all, leaving us with traps in the loft and no solution. It is a shame because when Mike turns up, he is really helpful but as I say, he has failed to turn up more than once and then failed to get back in touch afterwards. We have therefore found someone else

    Unfortunately for us the work was started but never completed. Walked away from the job with no communication and left us with the rat problem, in this case the rats beat the rat catcher and now having to pay another company to do the job.

    Rat problem resulting in flooding in home. I chose Mike based on reviews here. He responded quickly and was clear about route for action and payment was a ONE SET FEE until problem resolved. He was methodical in finding entry points using powder and camaras. He used traps,bait and temporarily blocked the points and then waited. The rats then went wild for a few days and managed to do more damage under the bathroom floor. Eventually they were caught in traps in the house and Mike filled up entry points permanently and we are rat free. Mike is reliable, thorough and has a calm, professional approach.

    Contacted Mike about a Wasp Nest located at the bottom of the garden with wasps entering their nest through fencing into a neighbour's garden. Mike was in the area so kindly came around at short notice, treated the access to the nest. He left suggesting we call him back should they reappear but thankfully no more wasps after a day or so. Prompt, efficient and friendly service. Definitely recommend.

    Mike was brilliant, true to his word, no sight of Mr Mole in the trap, so no charge. Previous company had quoted me £300 plus VAT !! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mike.

    We have had many pest controllers in the past and all they were interested in was putting down bait and so the rats returned every winter. I found Mike on Checkatrade and looked at his work and reviews and got the impression he went a lot further than laying bait. True to his word he charged a fixed price until the job was complete and we had many visits. We found the source of entry which was from neighbours house and Mike put traps in and outside both houses and put a camera outside to confirm this was the entry point for the rats. He filled the hole of entry and we are rat free!

Abbey Pest Control is an independent family-run pest control business based in Reading, Berkshire. We cover the whole of Berkshire, Hampshire and South Oxfordshire and cater for a range of domestic and commercial customers.

We are experts in treating the following the pests:

We are fully trained members of the NPTA (National Pest Technicians Association) and have over 10 years experience in effectively managing pest infestations. We have public liability insurance up to £2m and pride ourselves on the level of service we offer.

We use Integrated Pest Management to tackle any pests effectively. We consider other environmental factors that may have caused the infestation and look to fix these; encouring a long-term solution to pest management to reduce the likelihood of secondary infestations. This includes surveying the site to identify voids and entry points and sealing these to prevent access to your home or property.

Abbey Pest Control avoid using rodenticide whever possible to prevent rodents developing resistance to poisons and to avoid any unnecessary harm to other wildlife. Simply throwing poison at an infestaton will not tackle the problem in the longer term; we want to ensure our customers remain pest-free for as long as possible.

We've worked for a number of local domestic customers, as well as commercial customers including: DPD local, Balfour Beatty, Royal Berkshire Hospital as well as a number of local lettings agents in and around Reading.

We can offer stand-alone treatments or a competitive contractual price; all of our prices include a full survey to assess the site and establish the best course of treatment and a 10% discount is available to pensioners and emergency service personnel. Our vehicles are discreet and unmarked to give you peace of mind whilst we tackle your problem.

Unlike other pest control companies our prices don't cover a standard number of visits, each job is tailored to our customer and their specific needs.
