  My metal up and over garage door got stuck and I was unable to shut it closed. Via Checkatrade Andrew at AK Doors and Gates contacted me and an appointment agreed for his visit. He arrived on time, gave me an expert's explanation of the situation, the solution for putting it right and provided a reasonable repair quote. I was happy to give him immediate authorisation to proceed. Andrew completed all works to my satisfaction that same day. Not only have I a garage door which will now shut but working better than it has for many years. Very professional and thoroughly recommended.

  A great local company

  I have had 2 electric garage doors from Andrew at AK Doors and Gates over about 8 years. They both work perfectly and naturally Andrew has a lot of expertise about which brands work and those which are likely to break after a few years use. Andrew is great guy, friendly, respectful, knowledgeable, reliable and professional. He provides ongoing servicing to avoid any problems with electric garage doors.

  Very pleased with the communication and speed of job. Andrew arrived on time and carried out checks on the garage door, he figured out the issue and gave me a very good price. Andrew managed to complete all works very quickly that same day to a very good standard. I would recommend him and use again if required.

  Broken Cardale Garage Door

  I'm leaving this review to hopefully help someone in the Future, who finds themselves in my Position with a Broken Cardale Garage Door. Very simply, I had no idea if Andrew (the dude that runs AK) was any good? I took a gamble. And HE WAS AMAZING!! Calls me up, triages the problem, offers availability, turns up on time. Installed the cones on my Garage door, fixed the Spring (i had broken!) recalibrated the tension, lubricated the components and tided as he went. Honestly, it looked like a new garage door!?! He then stuck his little trade sticker on the back and off he went. Class Act!
