A man knocked on my elderly mothers door saying that work needs to be done on the roof and that he'd spoken to her husband (who was not in so he couldn't confirm this) and that he had said to do the work. Then he said they needed paying in cash as soon as the work is done (hundreds of pounds) or they'll go into the roof and take it all off. She asked if he could wait until her husband came home, but he refused and was aggressive. Her husband came home and paid him cash so he would leave. I feel this is a con as they didn't feel anything was wrong with the roof.

They are a scam company. They knocked on my elderly mothers door saying that work needs to be done on the roof and that he'd spoken to her husband (who was not in to confirm this) and that he had said to do the work. Then he said they needed paying in cash immediately or they'll go into the roof and take it all down. She said that she doesn't have hundredsd in cash and wait until her husband came home, but he refused and was aggressive. They had an argument and he called her a c***. Her husband came home and gave him the money. It was such an awful con though where they preyed on the elderly.
