Moving into a new-build, our garden was a blank canvas and we had ambitious ideas. Chris understood our vision and gave honest, practical advice, helping us focus on the core design rather than unnecessary, costly extras. His quote was prompt and the work was on budget. Jack and George were excellent workers who coped brilliantly with a May heatwave—polite, conscientious, and tidy throughout. We are delighted with the results and the attention to detail from Chris and his team. We highly recommend Balfour and would definitely use them again.

Balfour’s completed a major relandscaping of our garden which included the building of a 25m retaining wall, laying of 75m square of patio and composite decking, installation of raised beds and the construction of a summer house. The work was carried out to a very high standard by a friendly and extremely competent team. They were able to react swiftly to a number of changes as the project progressed. Overall I was entirely satisfied with the work carried out and the way in which it was conducted. I cannot recommend Balfour’s highly enough.

Chris and the team at Balfour came in to fit a new drain down the side of our house and re-lay a couple of slabs in our garden. Their quote was fair and well explained, they arrived when promised and conducted the works exactly as discussed. There was an issue on the day, out of their control, and they happily came another day to finish up. The drain has made an amazing difference to our house and has been well tested with the recent inclement weather. They will certainly be our first call for any future works.

This is the 2nd time I’ve used Balfour. Their work 3 years ago was exemplary. With the piece of work just completed they have continued to live up to that standard. Carried out clearing and hard landscaping of front garden and block paving drive, installation of new soak away and other drainage, rebuild boundary wall, creation of lawn, border and gate. Materials and methods they use are excellent, they pay attention to detail, the team is extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Very consultative and flexible, responding positively to any changes required.

We’re delighted with the work Chris and his team have done for us. The process of designing the garden was really enjoyable and we felt like our ideas had been thoroughly explored. When it came to the build Paul and Dylan were lovely to have around and made a special effort to entertain our little ones!
