Of the 4 guys I contacted, only BlueLotus (Nico) didn't visit to quote. He wanted photos sent, then later measurements sent. He quoted the same as one other. While we preferred the other gardener and they took the time to visit, Nico offered a discount for cash so we went with him. The work was done within 2 weeks and took a day. The issue was I'd asked for a conifer hedge and laurel to be trimmed; he confirmed this but on the day only the conifers were trimmed. He said I should have mentioned the laurel again in follow up texts. Why? We'd agreed the job and it was 95% conifers.

Admittedly made a mistake as the customers initial enquiry was regarding a conifer hedge and Laurel reduction however due to the customer only sending a video clearly stating ‘here is the conifer hedge to be reduced’, that was what was quoted for.
