Fantastic carpenter - would highly recommend and will definitely use again!

I was fortunate enough to have Ion reach out to me after posting a job on Checkatrade. Ion completed the removal of 9 old doors and installation of 9 new ones, with new latches, locks and one new frame. Ions communication is fantastic, he takes pride in what he does and he sourced some amazing latches and locks for us, after giving him some idea of what design we were looking for. I really couldn’t fault his work, work ethic - he even purchased a gazebo to continue working during the recent storm which was greatly appreciated. He was willing to go the extra mile, polite, meticulous.

  Door fitting

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really happy with my new door installation. The service was professional and friendly from start to finish, and the door looks fantastic. The fitting was completed to a high standard, with great attention to detail, and everything was left clean and tidy afterwards. The whole process was smooth and hassle-free. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have a new door fitted!

Floor levelling in timber frame house

I was struggling to find someone to take on a very challenging 1st floor levelling job in our 300-year-old timber frame house, but then I found Ion! A skilled and diligent tradesman, and a lovely bloke too, as was the reinforcement he called on after the first half day! They put the time and effort in to find a way, and the end result is just brilliant. The almost 2-inch drop from one side of the room to the other is no more!

  Job not done as agreed!

I am a bit dissappointed with the quality of work. This was a task related to reinforcing steps on a staircase from underneath. He did not carry out the task as initially agreed prior to the deposit being paid. Unfortunately, I wasn' at the tenanted property that morning to monitor the work being done but expected he would use his initiative. It was mid-afternoon when I called him that I realised that the impact of his change of plan which although he did some work, it did not resolve the issue. I now need to get the job redone (i.e. reinforcing the staircase steps from underneath).

Response from CARP CONTRACT SERVICES LTD

I’m disappointed to see this review, as I don’t believe it fairly represents what happened. My previous customer reviews reflect the care and professionalism I put into my work. On this job, the approach was adjusted based on the conditions found on site, and I did carry out work to the staircase. When concerns were raised, I offered a practical solution to resolve them. I’m happy for Checkatrade to review our full communication, agreed scope and the work carried out so the situation can be assessed fairly.
