  Remodeling project 1980s house

  They did a complete renovation of the ground floor of the house including remodelling and fitting a new kitchen. They sourced structural engineers to determine that we didn't need additional steel beams supporting the floor above, saving us a significant cost. Mustafa's communication and email updates were excellent and put our minds at ease as we were living elsewhere while most of the work was in progress. The only downside was getting the decoration and snagging complete. It took a few weeks to finish everything and the first decorator didn't do a great job. Excellent in the end.

  Kitchen renovation

  I recently hired Chalk Build for a kitchen renovation. They carried out a more extensive flat renovation for me a couple of years ago. As a returning customer, I’m impressed by their professionalism, attention to detail, and clear communication. The new kitchen looks great, the process was smooth and they stuck to the agreed budget. From start to finish, the team was punctual, organised, and communicative. They kept me very well updated throughout the process.

  Works following a leak

  The walls, floor and electrics in a small loft area were all badly damaged following a leak from the upstairs flat and required replacing, as did a party wall in the bedroom and the bathroom ceiling. So there was general building work, painting, electrics, plumbing and tiling (bathroom floor had to be replaced) involved. Tom oversaw the work on site and was fantastic - really pleasant and helpful. Really happy.

  Hallway and staircase renovation

  The job was to remove a built-in cupboard to create space in the hallway (demolition, rerouting of pipes, make-good), refloor and repaint the hallways, and update the staircase (new carpet, new banister, resolve creaks). Chalk Build did a great job, always prioritising health and safety (e.g. not disturbing asbestos tiles). Communication was excellent throughout the project, with any potential delays flagged early and costs explained transparently. Mustafa was great at making suggestions and coming up with ideas for what could work in the space. Finished product very good. Overall great job.
