    Fridge freezer repair

    Booked a call out to look into our broken fridge freezer. An engineer came out quickly to investigate the problem and the team in general were good with communication. However, the engineer who came seemed to rush the job and left within minutes, saying that the compressor was broken and we’d likely need a new fridge. He also left the doors open, letting out any cold air left and ruining a lot of our remaining food. Fortunately we realised we had a parts warranty with the fridge so just restarted the process of repair through Hotpoint. It turned out it was only the starter relay that was broken, not the compressor, so now our fridge is up and running again. So we were essentially charged a pretty steep call out fee just for the Clear Choice engineer to misdiagnose the problem and ruin the rest of our food. The team apologised for the latter issue but I’m just glad we sought a second opinion.

    Contacted them Tuesday, Engineer arrived and fixed the problem with my Dishwasher, (having given me 30 minutes notice, as requested) Wednesday lunchtime. Excellent service.

    Freezer Hinge

    The office team were very helpful and arranged an appointment quickly. I provided the freezer’s make and model so the engineer could bring the correct hinge, but the part wasn’t right and he had to return another day. When he came back, the repair was efficient and the hinge was fixed promptly. However, I wasn’t told he’d turned the freezer off during the repair. I’d kept the door secured to protect the food, but everything defrosted and had to be thrown away. Good repair overall, but poor communication led to unnecessary inconvenience and food loss.
