• Refuses to pay for damage

  Kevin replaced a tap and flexi-pipe. This led to a leak downstairs affecting the electrics. Initially he would not return to fix it, saying he'd charge us. We took our kids out of school to get to the flat. With video footage he sent us showing his work, and us videoing the leak from where he had not secured the 'olive', he returned for free. Since then Kevin has been contacted about the bill for electrician checks to downstairs. He has spoken directly to my husband, received a text, an email from the agent and a direct letter to his house from me, asking him to resolve this. Entirely ignored.

• Fixing an emergency leak

  Open reach drilled a hole through a water pipe behind the wall, resulting in water gushing into the room. They got hold of Kevin as an emergency plumber. He came remarkably quickly and fixed the problem with a minimum of fuss. Calm and efficient and a nice guy too. If I have any water problems in future, I’ll be calling him. The repair was paid for by the insurers so I don’t know the cost, but whatever it was, it was worth it!

• Remove existing gas boiler and replace with a new boiler.

  Kevin provided a quick and comprehensive quote following an inspection of the task.This included all items that needed renewing or replacing. He came at the promised time and applied himself assiduously to install the new system.He always discussed any issues that arose.The minimum of wall, tile and brickwork impact was made.Everything was cleared away leaving a neat job and pristine surrounding. I was pleased with all my interactions with Kevin who spent time to ensure the system was running correctly and that I understood how to operate and control it. A good job by an accomplished man.

• Emergency call out to replace actuator

  Called for an emergency fix for having no central heating at 10:30am, he eventually turned up at 7pm, I'd hardly call 8.5 hours an emergency call, but perhaps I'm out of touch! The job was fixed quickly after a visit to get the replacement part (fortunately Screwfix was still open!). Can't complain about the job but didn't appreciate being charged emergency call out rate for a 8.5 hour response time!

• Emergency call out - repair burst isolation valve

  Isolation valve had literally blown apart and so had to turn the water off to the house at 6pm in the evening. Called Kevin who arrived within 15 minutes and had it fixed within the hour, even with having to go and procure a new part. Charged as per quoted rate + part. Very polite and helpful. I would recommend
