Davey was absolutely brilliant. Came the same day after normal working hours to check and make safe our electrics after we had a a flood from the upstairs flat. Very thorough and very good rates. Replace fusebox with a consumer unit
I recently hired DS Thomson Electrical to replace an old fusebox with a consumer unit and was very impressed. Dave arrived on time, knew exactly what I needed and explained everything clearly. During conversation, I mentioned another electrical issue I was having with a switch tripping the electrics and he sorted that out for me as well. The work was top-notch, and the price was fair. Fault finding, and replacing Consumer unit and wiring
My house had an electrical issue where the earth wire ontwo wall lights had become live. The problem was seen as caused by possibly old wiring shorting out inside metal conduit. The consumer unit was off an old design so didnt switch off the circuit breakers. A new consumer unit was fitted and old faulty wiring removed, lighting circuits rewired,light fittings and switches replaced. The house has now obtained a wiring certificate showing that all wiring is now safe. The wiring has been done to a very high standard, with all wiring now fixed down very neatly. My name is David Thomson. I've had my own company for around 10 years now but I have 30 years in the Electrical industry. 16 years onshore (domestic/commercial) and 14 years offshore (in an industrial environment) so I have quite a well rounded experience. All Electrical work is considered but please see below for more info.
I offer a friendly, reliable and tidy service with fair prices. I am SELECT registered and certified to the latest 18th edition of electrical regulations.
We are doing quite a number of rewires now and specialising in some of the older properties which are quite a challenge that we do enjoy. We have a good team and can offer plastering as part of our package now too. We are not restricted to older properties and carry out safety (EICR) reports before recommending or giving advice on any project. We are tidy, clear everything away and you can see our genuine reviews on the Checkatrade site. All work is tested, certified and guaranteed. We do offer after care when work is complete which our customers will verify.
We do carry out quite a number of different work scopes as follows - Domestic extensions, new builds, kitchens, Industrial units, agricultural settings (farms), New build centres, bespoke lighting up grades, garden lighting, out houses, garage conversions, smoke detection, emergency lighting testing and installation. Shop refits. EICRs, PAT testing. Repairs and emergencies.
